Allow Guest Checkout

Enable or disable the guest purchase functionality across your platform.

  • Yes: Customers will be able to proceed to checkout as a guest. Additionally, this allows users to browse your stores and product listings freely without needing to register or log in first.

  • No: Customers must register or log in to an account before they can view specific store details or place an order.

Set Guest Checkout Order Types

Specify which service methods are available for guest users. You can enable guest checkout for:

  • Delivery, Pickup, Eatin, Curbside, Drive Thru, or Seat Delivery.

  • Recommendation: If you offer Delivery, ensure guest checkout is enabled only if you are comfortable receiving orders from non-registered addresses.

Guest Checkout Fields by Order Type

Since guests don't have a saved profile, you must define which information is mandatory for each service type to ensure successful fulfillment. First, select the Type of order from the dropdown menu to configure its specific requirements:

  • Delivery: Standard residential or office delivery.

  • Pickup: Customer collects at the store.

  • Eatin: Ordering from a table within the establishment.

  • Curbside: The order is brought to the customer's car.

  • Drive thru: Traditional window pickup.

  • Seat delivery: Delivery to a specific seat in a venue or stadium.

  • Catering (Delivery/Pickup): Large-scale or scheduled event orders.

Configuring "Required with Guest"

Once you select a service type, you will see a list of fields. Use the Required with guest toggles to make data mandatory:

  1. Identity: Name, Middle name, Last Name, Second lastname.

  2. Contact: Email, Mobile Phone.

  3. Preferences & Info: Zipcode, Coupon, Driver Tip, Comments, and Birthdate.

Best Practice: Essential Fields

It is highly recommended to set Name, Email, and Mobile Phone to Required for all guest order types.

Requiring these fields ensures that every order has a clear point of contact for the store and driver, and that digital receipts are delivered successfully to the customer's inbox.

How it works for the Customer

When a guest customer reaches the checkout, the platform checks these settings based on their selected order type.

  • Mandatory Fields: If a field is toggled "ON," the customer must fill it out. If they try to confirm the order without it, the system will block the transaction and highlight the missing information.

  • Optional Fields: If toggled "OFF," the field will still appear (if the status is active), but the customer can skip it to complete their purchase faster.

Streamlining the Guest Checkout Experience

Once Guest Checkout is enabled, it's imperative to streamline the process for seamless transactions:

  • Encouraging Guest Checkout: Employ concise and persuasive language, such as "Continue As Guest User," to prompt users to proceed effortlessly on the Ordering Website without the need for account creation.

  • Completing the Order: After customers have added products to their cart, guide them through the checkout process, where they can select the guest checkout option to finalize their purchase swiftly.

  • Minimal Customer Information: With guest checkout, only essential details, such as the delivery address or any mandatory guest checkout fields, will be collected from the customer, ensuring a frictionless experience.

  • Efficient Order Management: As a business owner, orders placed by guest users will be easily identifiable as "Guest user" in your orders manager, allowing for streamlined tracking and fulfillment.
